In the bosom of the mountainous forests of Otepää, where the Kääriku Sports Centre has been the heart of Estonian sports for decades, we faced a delicate challenge: how to create a hotel that supports the existing sports complex, but does not lose itself in its shadow? Our task was to offer athletes and guests a modern accommodation solution that breathes with the rhythm of the sports centre.
Our solution was based on a deep respect for the existing architecture. The hotel building does not try to dominate, but blends naturally into the sports complex, as if it had always been there. The choice of materials and the form language converse with both the ski stadium and the surrounding nature, creating a harmonious whole.
In the interior architecture, we highlight the unique atmosphere of Kääriku – the rooms speak of sport and nature, but at the same time offer modern comfort. Every corner is designed with the idea of supporting the recovery of the athletes staying here and inspiring them to new achievements.
The result is a hotel that complements the story of the Kääriku Sports Center – a place where architecture serves sport and sport inspires architecture, creating an environment where new victories can be born.
