The architectural competition for the Kotzebue Park real estate development project, organized by Kodu Kvartal OÜ, set the challenge of creating a modern living environment in the environmentally valuable area of ​​Kalamaja. The aim of the competition was to design apartment buildings on two properties that would comply with the current detailed plan and at the same time create a high-quality, attractive living environment for 78 apartments with a total area of ​​6,500 m². The task required finding a careful balance between respecting the historical context and the needs of modern housing, taking into account the specificities of the area and the proximity to Kalma green space.

The competition was aimed at three main target groups: 25-55 year old families with purchasing power who are looking for a 2-3 room apartment, 35-55 year old families with children who need a 3-5 room apartment, and people living alone who prefer a 1-2 room apartment. The solution had to ensure privacy, use natural materials and create a complete outdoor area that would not block access to Kalma green space. We came in second place among six architectural firms.
