The Lemeks Group headquarters on Näituse Street was born from the need to unite a fragmented team into one building. “We are fragmented,” said Jüri Külvik, the group’s chairman, explaining why they decided to build their own building, “which is also our face.” The building, designed by Eero Endjärv, resembles a sawmill – “Both ends are glass, logs go in from one end, boards come out from the other,” the architect described his vision.

The building is characterized by a bold volumetric solution, where the dark body with vertical wood cladding rests on glued-laminated posts that “reminiscent of a forest a bit – they are crisscrossed like tree trunks.” The striking side view of the building creates a visual effect, as if the structure is leaning slightly to one side, creating a dynamic and powerful architectural gesture. Large glass surfaces and warm wood details make this industrial company’s office both professional and intimate.

Inside, the architectural slatted wooden pattern of the reception desk tells the story of the company – traditional craftsmanship meets modern design. According to Külvik, as much wood and wood products as possible, which are manufactured in-house, will be used in the construction of the building: “Then our customers will also see that building with wood is not always expensive and the result is full of warmth.”
